Personal experience in upstate NY is that if the timing (late spring
through early fall) and conditions are right (not cold temps and less
than strong colonies). SHB can and WILL be a problem consuming and
multiplying in pollen patties. Been there, done that. Threw away the
patties, end of SHB problem. Also end of pattie benefits, but perhaps
the colonies were too weak to benefit from the patties anyway.
Aaron Morris - thinking SHB can be a problem in northern areas.
