Allen, my recent trials support your hypothesis that a less attractive patty
can sit untouched until needed.  I find that the bees will keep it "clean"
as long as they have access to all parts.

As far as beekeepers thinking that one or two patties are enough, that is no
longer the case with successful US commercial beeks.  Many are feeding 15-30
lbs per year.
