Sorry to but in but I just caught this thread.  There was a comment about 
"sometimes it isn't the fault of the bees but of nature".  Happened to me a 
couple of years ago.  I took honey off in plenty of time for the girls to 
build up stores for winter.  I got busy and didn't follow up and got bit-or 
stung as it were because of it.  Things dried up early and I didn't get feed 
on in time and paid for it in the spring.  I have learned my lesson.
