I reckon that noting of the polished, scallop shaped depressions, might
bring forth some useful info... But I would not like to guess what :-)

One thing I should have included in the previous post, I referred to the
'have queen' clusters as spherical, but a better descripion would be walnut
shaped... I have thought that this might be merely a factor of a more or
less uniform depth of bees coating a queen shape.
