Mary Ellin, et al.- Just a quick question related to "looking glasses." Are you aware of any "dictionaries" out there that deal with 19th century and earlier usage. I have run across numerous diary entries where meaning is obviously not what it is today. "Taking cars, a flying trip, drumming fertilizer, laying the worm" are all examples. And I know there are other examples out there of confusion or downright misinterpretation. I would love to find a glossary dedicated to listing the most common historic use of terms and phrases.
