Christine Labroche queries: >I am looking for a recording of Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra. The >number I have found, (c.30), overwhelms me. Yeah, I count about 35 or so right now. I like mine a lot, and can't wait to hear other opinions. I have (gasp) the Karajan on EMI, some recent re-issue CD coupled with Music for Strings, Percussion & Celeste (awesome...awesome awesome awesome) and Koda'ly Hary Janos Suite (impressive and surprising). IIRC there is also a rehearsal sequence of some kind. So, I _warmly_ reccomend the HvK. I must admit I like Music for Str, Perc & Cel a *bit* better, but I am told I will flip-flop when I get a bit older. Something about being less gimmicky...I've never agreed...so far. I've never heard the Bernstein either, but it has been reccomended to me. Bob K.
