Hello all!

I have been presented with an item that, frankly, has me stumped. It was
recovered twenty years ago from the bottom of the St. Lawrence River near
Prescott, by a diver. It is an earthenware disc, glazed (on one side) and
marked "MAISON DORIN" "27. R. Grenier St.Lazare PARIS" in a circle, with a
trademark in the middle bearing an obscure date (1795?) and the words "??RD
// DE // TOI // ETTE", around a monogramme of the name "DORIN" in the
centre, and the words "MARQUE DE FABRIQUE" underneath. The disc is 56 mm in
diameter and 6 mm thick. It has a number of raised concentric rings on the
back.

I would sure like to hear from anyone who can tell me what this is, how old
it is, and, perhaps, something about the company.
Thanks a lot in advance for any and all assistance.
