I would just add, for those who are not aware, that the Auvidis version utilizes a variety of instruments as opposed to the consort approach of Phantasm and the Keller Quartet. Another list member had mentioned a new Art of the Fugue recording on Channel Classics. I forget the exact name of the group, but the performances are on recorders. Although I'm not a fan of the recorder, it does sound interesting. I could have bought it at Borders, but no, I don't buy at stores anymore. I still have a 100% success rate of not buying at the stores; that's pretty good for a guy who sure doesn't like to wait for good things. I can't even share this with my wife; she thinks I stopped doing that months ago. Did I tell her that? I just thought I grunted when she asked me about store buying. You never know how a person will respond to a grunt. Don Satz [log in to unmask]
