A few years ago they remodeled the mother-baby area in our hospital and got
rid of the newborn nursery. But then they remodeled again and put it back in.
The reason? The pediatricians complained. It was just too darn much trouble
for them to examine the babies in their mothers' rooms. "The lighting's bad,"
they'd complain. "We can't tell whether they're jaundiced." Blah, blah, blah.
