That old saw used to be thrown in my face in the 1970s everytime I
discussed adoptive nursing.  No evidence ever GIVEN to prove that the baby
of the non-adoptive mother would have such a reaction.  In fact, when my
eyebrows went to the sky and I asked, why would this not happen when the
milk of a DIFFERENT SPECIES is given, the docs who raised this objection
never did give me an answer, satisfactory or otherwise.

I suspect this is one more of those sacrificial statements without any
justification whatever, but which sounds good when stated, particularly in
pompous manner (perhaps with chest thrown out and/or hands on hips!)
