Since I have been busy trying to organize an Ezzo protest, I have had little chance to post to Lactnet! I have just now caught up on reading for the past few days! Forgive me if I seem a little "late!" I think that labor support makes all the difference here. I owe a debt of gratitude to my doula (ROYCE), who is also an IBCLC and ensured that my baby got on the breast within minutes of birth. I had an epidural (after 25 hours of labor, 5 at 9.5), but NO problems breastfeeding due to the assistance of my wonderful doula. This is one of the main reasons I am currently working on certification as a doula - LCs cannot always be present at the moment of delivery, and moms need a BF advocate present to sift through the confusion. This is why I enjoy Lactnet so much - I am learning LOTS about how to help my future clients! Jessica Garrett who is proud to share that she is in Oklahoma City, OK, USA...that flat part!
