A great big THANK YOU to Anne Altshuler and all the rest who have provided
encouragement and positive strokes regarding the upcoming IBLCE exam.
Anne's following statement was especially helpful:
>"I can understand the anxiety of those who have not taken the exam before
> and want to have some more experience with slides beforehand. Those of
us
> who have taken the exam once have some point of reference. Those who
have
> never taken it don't really know WHAT to expect. They may not realize
that
> their years of dealing with common problems and with growing babies and
> children will stand them in good stead. The exam is not all rare
> situations. The questions are not primarily trick questions trying to
trap
> you."
    I realized I've seen 400-500 mother/baby couples in the last 2 1/2
years. No abscesses or babies with cleft palates; but alot of different
nipples, breasts, and baby mouths. I think I'll stop fretting about this
now, just read up on some of the situations I don't see often.
Thanks again for the positive words.
Warmly,Mary A. Banaszewski RN, Lactation Specialist
