I'm following the above discussion with a lot of interest. Had an interesting conversation with our LC about the discussion today and I related that I had found a Hooters cup (with a busty young woman in a tight t-shirt on it) among my glassware a few weeks ago. I asked my husband about it and he said he'd gone there with his older brother and the general his brother works for when he was away on a business trip to Virginia (ahhh...America's finest!) I had no problems with expressing my concerns about going somewhere like this (yeah yeah-he told me the BS about it being a "family" restaurant). As I related this story to our LC, she came up with an interesting analogy. Hypothetically, what if there was a restaurant called "Weiners" and their slogan was "We have foot longs" with men in thongs stuffed to the hilt in the front? Would men be as delighted about this as they are about places like Hooters? I think not.
