Hi! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sharon Watkins. I am the mother of four (three breastfed and one adopted), and am a longtime breastfeeder (11 l/2 straight years and counting). I am also a LLL Leader and a clinical LC student in Encino, California. I have been enjoyably lurking here for a couple of months and now find myself asked to make a post for a colleague with a cranky modem. The question is this: has anyone ever had any experience with pumped breastmilk failing to freeze in an ordinary, properly-functioning home freezer? The mother involved had mastitis, and we wondered if the higher sodium content of her milk might have had an effect??? I would appreciate any insight anyone could offer. Thanks in advance, and thank you too for such a spirited, committed ongoing discussion. -----Sharon P.S.--I followed the discussion a couple of weeks ago about what we ought to be calling formula. I have a modest proposal: Synthetic Infant Nutrition (it's all in the acronym.)
