Hello, I seem to have lived through this flu bug, although for two days it did indeed flatten me like the proverbial mack truck.. A fellow Peer Counselor approached me in the grocery store today (yes, I had to venture out, my family finally ate all the leftovers) with this problem: she is nursing a 15 month old, and has had past bouts of mastitis followed by yeast infections from the antibiotics. She seems to feel she has the mastitis licked, having had no symptoms since August. However, she continues to have vaginal itching which is quite significant. Her doctor has diagnosed yeast, "not rampant, but there are some yeast there" were the doctor's words. The yeast infection treatments haven't budged the itching a bit, and the patient suggested to the doctor that perhaps this was due to her estrogen levels. The doctor in turn suggested an estrogen cream to be applied vaginally, which the patient is unwilling to do while nursing. She does not want to wean, especially if the nursing isn't what's causing this. Any bells ringing for anyone?
