Maureen Minchin is absolutely right about possible topical allergic reactions
to cabbage leaves. Low-protein foods are uncommon allergens, but anyone can
be allergic to anything! My son got bellyaches from red apples, but not
green. I react to peanuts but not soy products. The more I read and learn
about allergy, the more I realize how complex a phenomenon it is.

When you start digging, you will discover that LOTS has already been written
of value. For those of you just getting into allergy - read anything by Dr.
William Crook, and Food for Thought (white cover, second edition) by Maureen
Minchin. IMHO, Maureen has pulled it all together in the most useful way for
lactation professionals. It's a resource worth hunting for. I never, ever
loan out my copy for fear of losing it.
