Hi everyone, Sorry I've been busy and Hurricane Fran just drown us, the eye passing right over us here in Lynchburg. ( glug, glug, glug ) Rivers are still rising with some not expected to crest until Saturday or Sunday. Lots and lots of flooding everywhere. 2" of water in the basement of my office. It leaked into the house through windows and some in the basement but we are on a hill. Trees down, chainsaws roaring in all directirons. Cooked on the campstove today and finally got power back , but lots of places are still out. Some moms came and got power packs so they can pump off their car battery. What an experience! Of course we had it easy compared to the folks in North Carolina. I am still keeping the list of names. I think what we need now is to get some ideas on what to say when we are assaulted with some of these negative, horrible names. What are some good comebacks--I mean productive responsives, not just sass and one-up-manship. One that comes to mind right now is if I am called a nasty, negative name is to say simply in an even tone "You know, it's not very mature/professional to resort to name calling. I won't call you names. If we disagree you should be able to discuss this situation with me. I will be happy to share the information I have on this subject with you. Can you share your information with me? Then we can discuss this as professionals."
