Michael, On a completely different subject, do you have any information on a stoneware pottery at Spring Hill, Hempstead Co., Arkansas, ca. 1850-1860, no known mark nor is the name of the potter listed. I recently saw an Albany slip jug impressed Alfred or Albert Tucker, Spring Hill, and am wondering if this might be attributed to the Arkansas pottery. It doesn't look that old or particularly southern to me, but Ramsay is often off with his dates. There are other Spring Hills, of course, including one in Tennessee and several in Pennsylvania. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm using your cattle dip query to respond, as previous posts to your e-mail address have bounced. Jim Murphy [log in to unmask]
