Beeswax was a standard part of little pocket emergency kits at one time, particulary intended for plugging a lost filling or cracked tooth until one could get to the dentist. I remembered this when my wife had a crown pop off the other day. We scrounged up a beeswax candle (one of those made up of what seems to be wound-up foundation wax) and shaped a plug, squeezing it to fill the post-hole, and shaped like the missing crown. The dentist jokingly suggested leaving it that way, as the color was slighlty better matched than the ceramic one! Dave [log in to unmask]
