>What are the protocols for treating a package? I.e. treat while still in the package, if so how much? Thanks Dan, I hurriedly added a few notes to the Powerpoint (which takes me about an hour to present), and posted it for general use. Apologies for leaving out some details which I normally speak of. I added to the updates: Re treatment of package bees. After installing a package, it will be at least 9 days before there are brood old enough for varroa to enter. That means that you can treat a package with an oxalic dribble or Apivar strip up 'til about 5 days after the package is installed, without loss of efficacy (due to oxalic). Treat by oxalic dribble with 5 mL of medium strength per seam of bees. -- Randy Oliver Grass Valley, CA www.ScientificBeekeeping.com *********************************************** The BEE-L mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
