Dear Lactnet Friends:

ALL mothers need close attention after delivering their babies. ALL are
vulnerable to loss of confidence and premature weaning. ALL have different
reasons.

This means s2s at birth until first the breastfeeds, uninterrupted contact,
hand expression (to learn the skill; it's up to her to choose to use it),
and going home. She will then need folks around to wait on her and answer
her questions for a week or two, at least.

warmly,
