Thank you everyone for your thoughts.  

Randy, the majority of the frames were plastic foundation that what was left of the combs was scraped, and some frames that are empty at this point.  What was scraped, I assume was whatever the wax moths left.  If there had been useable combs I don't think they would have been scraped.  I have had a second, second hand confirmation of AFB.  Basically a discussion with the original beekeeper about having some AFB problems a couple years prior to their passing.

I think at this point I think am going to destroy the frames and perhaps hold onto some of the boxes for experienced beekeepers only.  It's enough for a new beekeeper to steer clear of mites and keep their girls safe over the winter, no need to throw another variable in the mix.
