Here in the Virginia mountains (southwest part of the state), the U.S. Forest Service and some university researchers have been treating Hemlock Woolly Adelgid infestations with imidacloprid (by injection and soil treatment). I wonder if any researcher has looked at pollinator affects from this non-agricultural, but potentially large scale treatment of forest trees. Tulip popular, maple and black locust are big contributors to our nectar flow here.
