Vitamin A deficiency is implicated in night blindness and vitamin D deficiency is implicated in "age-related" vision loss. In other words, vision loss is stress and nutrient-related, not age-related. There is also a lot of information about pregnancy-related night-blindness caused by vit A deficiency. There are many--here is one http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11010944 Jennifer Tow, IBCLC, USA & France Intuitive Parenting Network, LLC "Laurie, you make a great point about good light... not only does our ability to adjust our focus in short order (going from far vision to near vision, or driving vs reading for example) change as we age, but so does our ability to see well in the dark. I am 44 and have been noticing these changes in my eye sight as well. Its so bad at times that I get dizzy when I am driving if I have to look far, look close, look far again too many times. Also, driving at night where there are no street lights is AWFUL! Fortunately, these age-appropriate vision changes do not affect my work with clients, as yet. I suppose I should think about bifocals... but... I'm not ready to give up my youth! LOL I had similar vision problems with my 1st pregnancy, so much so that I couldn't drive for the last trimester. I do get questions of this nature from time to time by clients, who wonder if the changes in their vision are pregnancy or breastfeeding related. I have always answered that there is no link to vision and lactation (am I right here?), but that pregnancy can cause vision changes. I am not pregnant, so must admit that I am getting old." *********************************************** Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.html To reach list owners: [log in to unmask] Mail all list management commands to: [log in to unmask] COMMANDS: 1.
