This article from Hale's Infant Risk Center site may be helpful when
discussing alcohol in milk (whether directly from the source or expressed):

When discussing alcohol and bedsharing, etc as others have brought up, I
think it helps to remind mothers that too much alcohol can impair one's
ability to respond and safely parent as baby needs -- no matter how baby is
fed. Most of alcohol-related consequences are not breastfeeding issues, per
se...

Re: sage in dressing/stuffing -- most stuffing/dressing has only a small
amount disseminated throughout lots of breading/rice (whatever used). Would
think a mother would have to think, "I'd like a little bread with my sage"
for it to make a difference. At least I'm glad no one suggested this to me
when I was breastfeeding (BF). As a sample of 1, I happily ate mounds and
mounds of my favorite homemade sage stuffing/dressing -- the best part of
the meal as far as I'm concerned -- on certain holidays and as much of the
stuffing/dressing leftovers that I could get away with with no detrimental
effects to milk production -- even when BF our twins. (However, I'm not
sure I'd know if production was affected as I simply BF on cue and would
increase BF if any indicated and that would bump it up again if, indeed, it
had gone down. I really don't think production was affected.)

Well, 'tis the season for plugged ducts, mastitis, etc as someone else
noted...

Happy Holidays!
