ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions. ***************************************************************************** The Orlando Science Center has been actively developing STEM-related, problem-based learning activities in our exhibit halls for a while now. While some have been designed primarily to meet the STEM education needs of our school field trips, all are also designed to meet the needs of general visitors and can stand alone with little to no facilitation needed from floor staff. So far our results have been met with much enthusiasm from both visitors and school administration and we continue to plan more exhibits based on this premise. --Kim Kim Hunter Senior Director, Exhibit Development Orlando Science Center 407/514-2061 [log in to unmask] Inspire Science Learning for Life -----Original Message----- From: Informal Science Education Network [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Beryl Rosenthal Sent: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 9:28 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Design based STEM learning ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions. ************************************************************************ ***** I'm interested! We recognize that "design" is a bit of an open ended term, but however you all might define it, are there others who are working on similar approaches? > > Please drop me a note if you are either working on this now or are interested in developing similar activities and skills. > > Thanks > > Eric > > Eric Siegel > Director and Chief Content Officer > New York Hall of Science > 47-01 111th Street > Queens, NY 11368 > (718) 699 - 0005 x 317 > www.nysci.org > > esiegel at nyscience dot org > projects web site at http://www.etsiegel.net > > NY Hall of Science is on: > > Twitter: http://twitter.com/nysci > Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/nysci > YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/nyhallofscience > > > > > > > > > > > > > > *********************************************************************** > For information about the Association of Science-Technology Centers and the Informal Science Education Network please visit www.astc.org. > > Check out the latest case studies and reviews on ExhibitFiles at www.exhibitfiles.org. > > The ISEN-ASTC-L email list is powered by LISTSERVR software from L-Soft.
