Real pollen if I remember right contains about 40% protein, so feed real pollen, mixed into the honey until kneaded and firm enough to make pollen paddies, similar to beebread, and put it on a paper plate above the cluster needing pollen for periodic brooding and building up come spring, at the bees own pace/choice for doing. Then your bees still have honey for adult bees for just eating, while real protein with more protein content mixed with honey, mimicing beebread for better eating.
