ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions. ***************************************************************************** Bob, We started using QR codes (2D bar codes) on the posters that we put up around town to promote our Featured Exhibition. We've had enough success with them to justify the time and space they take up and are a good way to get people more information than we can comfortably fit on the posters. We use http://bit.ly to create them and I would recommend other centers start using them as well. We're discussing adding them to some of our exhibit signage as a way of giving those interested a more in-depth explanation of the science. We haven't tried this yet but will probably be rolling out a few samples in the next few months. Cheers, T. Does your museum use or want to use any of these things in interactives or to connect visitors to exhibits or online? I'd like to connect with few individuals interested to participate to document some current systems and comment on what an ideal system would look like to you. The project is also lining up designers and consultants to propose models and methods, so it should get some pretty interesting results. Please let me know directly at [log in to unmask] Thanks!
