I had been keeping bees about a year or two and had a mean hive( I had bought from a local beek). I had a bad attitude toward it and even said :I WILL go down in your brood box! I declared Jihad on it. 30 minutes later I was having trouble seeing and about to pass out. I called my wife and she called HEMSI. They arrived and she gave me a little benadryl. I vomited and then was ok. The toughest part was the fear afterwards. I knew I had been called to keep bees but that fear would creep in as I went to the beeyard. I just kept "doing it scared" and after a few weeks the fear began subsiding , after a few months it was almost gone and eventually totally disappeared. I let my epipen dry up. One other note: I was in full armor at that time but had black socks on-that is where they got me. I now use a polinator jacket , frequently work without a veil and havent put on a pair of gloves in a year or two(there is a hive in one of my outer yards that may make me use some gloves this year) I certainly changed my whole outlook toward bees, I now work "WITH" them. I also dont push myself, if I get a little lightheaded in the heat /weak I will just stop.Period. This isnt exactly the same as your experience but I hope it helps.
