I have resorted to dreamfeeds all the time. Please read before you hit me.
My baby has multiple sensory issues and very easily destructible. So, yes I
would pick her up and tank her up before she wakes up. This way she would
get a lot more in. and yes if I feed her at 3.30AM I will get to sleep until
6.30 - 7.00 AM . Otherwise she would ether wake up at 5.00AM , or not wake
up and miss a feed (she is very underweight, so this is a big concern). I
have also resorted to dreamfeeds only when she goes on the nursing strike.
And it is fairly often. She will eat while asleep, but not when awake.
Needless to say she has never slept more than a foot away from me or DH.
I think that refraiming the term instead of giving it negative connotaition
may be more producive.
