Creston is very well known in the saxophone community.  His Sonata has
been a staple of every classical player since it's composition in 1935.

I don't think that any classical saxophone player has ever come out
of a conservatory or university without having worked on this piece.

I know of over 20 commercial recordings of this work, which include
versions by masters like Marcel Mule, Jean-Marie Londeix, Eugene Rousseau
and Cecil Leeson, for whom the work was originally written for.
