Janos Gereben reports on the Emanuel Ax performance of the Szymanowski
"Symphonie Concertante."

This is indeed a remarkable piece, and I wish I could have heard Ax play
it. I have a recording with Mescal Wilson performing with the Janacek
Philharmonic conducted by the late Dennis Burkh. I think it is very
good. Also on the CD is an even more wonderful piece, the Concerto #2
for violin and orchestra. It is a Centaur recording CRC 2153.
