In my experience, bleeding during mastitis is not a common symptom. 

Re the non-latching baby who started at 10 pounds: What caught my attention was the description that baby was disorganized at first, then appeared to be nursing well, then was losing weight. I theorize that the baby was not really transferring much milk due to the disorganized suck. Lately, mother feels that baby's suck is getting weaker due to not breastfeeding. (he's bottlefeeding). Possibly this baby has some neurological, tone, or sensory issues. I would not push too much towards the breast offering, but do so very pleasurably and with skin to skin alot. Continue feeding by bottle, if that is accepted by baby, and of course protect the supply. Continue to observe baby closely to see if there are other signs/symptoms to suggest a problem and refer to the appropriate specialist.
