I would like to ask a question of all the docs on Lactnet. Thanks, by the way, for your private responses to me. I have appreciated them. I know those of us in the hospital environment do on occasion encounter the resistant doctor but more often a physician who just doesn't know much as far as the basics of breastfeeding management. I have found that while most are receptive to my information and want to learn, I am often wondering what would be the best venue for them to learn. It would be nice if I could steer them in the direction of some basic information. As a physician, what suggestions could you offer as to how to best get some good basic information to these docs (in hopes that they will want to learn more)? I have to say that one of our docs just went and took "the 40 hour course." She even told me it "wet my appitite to want to learn more." The AAP seems to be doing more and that is a good thing. Maybe hearing from their own academy will pique the interest of more and more pediatricians.. As physicians, if you have any more suggestions as to how we LC's can support the physicians in this, would you please throw suggestions my way. Thanks, Betsy Riedel RNC, IBCLC Connecticut *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET email list is powered by LISTSERV (R).
