Twenty-seven year old Polish conductor Michal Dworznyzski has won the 2006 Donatella Flick Conducting Competition. The announcement was made at the end of the ninth competition, held at Barbican Hall, London UK on Thursday 19 October 2006. He led the London Symphony Orchestra in performances of the Overture, Prelude to Act III, Dance of the Apprentices and Entry of the Mastersingers from Wagner's 'Die Meistersinger von Nuernberg'.
