In recent times there has been a real increase in the agressiveness of marketing of infant formula in Australia....we've had some new players enter the market and advertising their products in parents magazines and website, Drs magazines etc promising more sleep to those who use their products...we've got established players setting up "Mums clubs" and setting themselves up as providing support on infant feeding and development....there is a plethora of "educational materials" produced and distributed with information designed to discourage women from breastfeedung (some quite dangerous, like saying it's normal for breastfed babies to have 15 stools a day)....we've had toddler formula milk give aways and tastings in supermarkets but now we've hit a new low and have advertising of infant formula on television! I and many others are wondering when it is going to stop??? Perhaps we're heading down the road of the US in some ways. I must say that it's a bit scary!
