Meira Warshauer Spirals of Light to Be Performed As Part of Tenth Annual New Music Symposium at Colorado College on July 15 Meira Warshauer's Spirals of Light for flute, cello and piano will be performed as part of the tenth annual New Music Symposium on July 15 - 7:30 PM at Packard Hall on the campus of Colorado College, 5 West Cache La Poudre St. on Colorado Springs, Colorado. The piece, commissioned by Columbia College of Columbia, South Carolina, consists of three movements: 1. Slow whirl into stillness, which invites the listener into the sacred center, swirling and spiraling into stillness; 2. Inner resonance, which merges with the mystery of the Infinite and 3. Dancing Light, which awakens joyous energy flowing into the world. Performers for Spirals of Light will be flutist Paul Nagem, cellist Thomas Heinrich and pianist Susan Grace. Other composers with works on the program, in other vocal and instrumental combinations, include Stephen Scott, Tania Cronin and Robert Patterson. This program is free and open to the public.
