Aetna Reaches Settlement
June 10, 2006
From Staff Reports

Aetna agreed to settle a New York investigation by paying for medically necessary infant formula, whether it's tube-fed or given orally, and pay $25,000 to cover costs of the probe, New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer announced Friday.

New York law requires coverage of "enteral" formulas, such as Neocate, that are designed to provide nutrition to babies and other people who cannot digest regular food products or supplements because of allergies or disease.
