If (a tad out of place on this list) I may extend the subject to include singers, I personally, after first hearing Georges Thill singing the great recit.+aria of Enee in Les Troyens, can receive very little satisfaction from the Vickers, Villars, Goulds, Heppners and other would be realizers of the role. What does this mean? Most of the few who care about Les Troyens adore not only Vickers and Heppner but now Kunde. To me they get less and less significant. It means little except that I do not believe I will ever find a performance of one of my favorite operas which I can enjoy. Yoel
