Karl Miller asks for assistance in adding to a list of works posted,
based on music by other composers:

>Any additions would be most welcome.

These will be pretty commonly cited, but I could think of the Brahms
Variations works, on themes by Handel and Haydn (the latter of course
since found to be an incorrect attribution).

Britten's "Young Person's Guide...", based on a Purcell theme from
incidental music for a play--can't remember if it was "Abdelazar," or
perhaps "The Gordion Knot Untied."

Then there's the Bach Concerto for Four Harpsichords, based on Vivaldi's
for Four Violins, from the latter's "L'Estro Armonico."

Rachmaninoff--the "Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini," of course.
