From 2 different sources, I think there is more fat in breastmilk than in cow's milk. Whole milk has 8g of fat per cup. Doing a little math, there are approximately 4 grams of fat per dl in breastmilk and 2.366 dl in 1 cup, that makes 9.5 g of fat per cup of breastmilk. If you take 1.2 g of fat per oz in breastmilk that is 9.6 grams of fat per cup of breastmilk. Either way is greater than 8 grams per cup in cow's milk, I think it still would be greater even with a variation in the breastmilk from fore to hindmilk. Just my thoughts, Mandy Frost, MS, RD, IBCLC *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
