I need some advice about a situation that came up today. As fellow breastfeeding advocates, I am certain you will steer me in the right direction. I rarely post, but do follow the list several times/day. Any feedback will help. Recently, I applied for a license plate from the state of Colorado-- BRSTFD1 and was approved; however, I changed my mind after the approval letter came, and I submitted a request for BRSTFDM (to stand for Breastfeed Them)instead. Today I received a letter from the Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Business Group that says: Your request for the following special license plates is BEING REJECTED and CANNOT be processed. The special license plate REQUESTED AND THE REJECTION code are indicated below. 06-- Possibly offensive to the general public. First, they approve the BRSTFD1, then reject BRSTFDM. Am I missing something here? Because if there is a possible "offensive" interpretation to the latter, can someone here please point it out to me? I am prepared to cause a bit of a fuss over this, not because I HAVE to have this plate, but because of the principle (always the principle); however, I would first like some guidance from my fellow breastfeeding advocates. If it's not worth the fight or might possibly cause "problems" for those of us who try to keep breastfeeding peace, then I will just leave it alone. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
