Just have to add one thought. If daughter and/or her friends are giggling at the word "breast", there is a need and opportunity to counter the societal "breasts are sex objects only" attitude. If she hears them giggle about it, she might ask "innocently", "What's funny about that?" This could lead to a discussion of the fact that other body parts have a sensual/sexual role also, but are perfectly normal in their primary roles. (I like to use the example of lips-they certainly play a part in sex, but we don't have to hide their use in speaking or eating - at least not in our part of the world). Personally, I might have tried giggling every time they mention "mouth" or "lips" so they can see how ridiculous it seems. Almost every challenge we face can be turned into an opportunity to help people see that breastfeeding is actually quite normal and acceptable. (Although, I personally tend to think of the great response too long after the fact!)
