There have been many excellent suggestions on how to approach moms
either when they come to deliver (or earlier in the pregnancy).  The
total assumption that a mom will be breastfeeding is the ultimate
goal.  I offered the "will you be breastfeeding" as a step in that
direction.  Some staff would find moving from "breast or bottle" to
the absolute assumption of breast at the norm as too much of a
"quantum leap".  The "will you be....." may well be accepted and
used first.  The LC goal is for that to only be a step toward what
we feel should be the prevailing attitude.  If only it were possible
to make the complete jump overnight to BF as the norm and assumed
feeding method for all moms.  In the meantime, some of us have to be
content with "baby steps" toward the goal.
