Stacey asks, > Perhaps I am not cynical enough or perhaps I am merely naive. So maybe > one of the breast pump companies should start giving out discharge > packs. Which brings up a question: What do you at Baby Friendly > institutions (how lucky you are!) do about the gift packs? We have canvas bags printed with our name and hospital logo. They are very attractive -- an apple 'tree of life'. We put into it a folder with breastfeeding information: a sample LLLI New Beginnings magazine, LLL local meeting notices, LLLI catalogue, the Motherwear catalogue, Medela's Tear off sheets on breastfeeding, local breastfeeding resources, a price list of lactation supplies available through the hospital; Amy Spangler's Breastfeeding, A Parent's Guide, and some freebies such as baby wipes or wash - whatever odds and ends we receive that do not have the Logo of an infant food or formula company. It also has our own reference booklet on caring for your baby after you leave the hospital.
