I need your help!

I'm new to the lactation area and I have just become a CLC,
have the theory behind me but I need some help with how to help
new mothers.

At work I am naturally always given the moms with breastfeeding
problems, mainly flat nipples and difficult latch. How do you all
go about helping these moms. Maybe I'm asking for the impossible quick
fix, but I am getting frustrated with my ability to help these women.

At the moment I am helping a mom with large breasts and flat nipples,
her last baby never latched and she pumped for two months! She ended
giving up when her milk supply decreased. I've been helping her to get the
baby to breast he sucks a few times and the sleeps. I've talked a little
with her about pumping and at the breast supplementation if things don't
work out for her again as I get the feeling she may not work at
breastfeeding very long.

I just don't want to say or do something wrong.

thanks

Jennifer
