I would get a different book, but am also aware of the reported consequences
of iron deficiency anemia.

I still think that a healthy, growing, perfectly-fed (breast milk either
exclusively or nearly so) baby of 6-12 months of age has the "right" amount of
iron and hemoglobin unless there was an unusually early clamping of the umbilical
cord.
