Hello, I am a hospital based LC in a NICU. I have been helping a Mom pump for a micro-premie. Mom has been pumping with hospital grade, double electric pump, on low to medium settings, 8 times/day for approx. 4 weeks. Her nipples are fine, no redness or cracks. Her complaint is that after she pumps, she has an uncomfortable tingling sensation in the ducts BEHIND both nipples for approx. 15-20 minutes. She says it is the same feeling as when your foot falls asleep. She claims that her nipples do not hurt though. The only thing I can think of is yeast. The fact that her nipples are fine and that it is only in the ducts is confusing for me. Any other suggestions?
