I received this email from the mom so many of you helped by offering wise counsel a few weeks ago (her GI Dr. told her to wean to formula for a 'trial period' to see if the baby was 'allergic' to her milk): Hi Megan and Lactnet friends, I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Ellie is doing SO much better!! I have been on the dairy and soy free diet for a while now and for the past week she has really shown her true colors! She is 3 months old, smiling, cooing, 'talking', and acting like an all around happy baby. What a difference, it kills me to remember how much pain she was in before and what a sad bebe she was. She just cries when hungry, tired or needs to be changed now, (not for pain). She just had her follow up appointment today with the same GI Specialist. He was very pleased to see that she was up to 13 pounds and happy. I let him know I was exclusivly breast feeding. He did let me know it would be hard to do this for a year but I really am dedicated and don't find it that hard. I am taking Fenugreek to increase my supply... I am working full time.... Anyway, I am so happy that I am nursing, thanks for ALL of your support.
