When I caught myself having written Bb A C Bn (B-A-C-H) today, I thought a comment about seeing imitation and emulation in similar patterns might be appropriate -- there are times when a few notes are important and have nothing to do with homage to someone or another. I'm sure I am not the only composer who finds a roundabout chromatic step up (Bb to Bn) to be interesting. If it happens to start on Bb, because of other tonal motion in the composition, that is coincidence only. William Copper composer [log in to unmask]
